The Social Toolkit’s mission is to make social guidance more accessible to neurodivergent children and teenagers. By helping reduce the anxiety that accompanies social interaction, we hope to benefit overall mental wellbeing. We are also thankful to have the guidance of Jennifer Berry Wang, LMFT while creating these resources. She has provided support through CBT, EMDR therapy, and counseling for neurodivergent children in the Bay Area since 2009
Looking ahead, we hope to continue collaborating with organizations, educators, and families to refine The Social Toolkit and create resources that truly help the children who use them. Through feedback and collaboration, we aim to make these tools as practical, accessible, and effective as possible—and eventually bring them into more schools and communities, making them freely available to those who need them.
Pooja Shenoy is the creator and designer of The Social Toolkit. She is from the Bay Area, California. Her passion for psychology and neuroscience, as well as working with younger children, inspired her to explore how social interaction could be taught more clearly.
Through her own experiences, she discovered the value of practical social strategies and wanted to make those tools accessible and free to others. She developed The Social Toolkit through research and mentorship, with the hope of reducing social anxiety and helping neurodivergent children approach social situations with greater confidence.
